Barry Philip O’Hanlon, 62, of Westminster, CO passed away on Wednesday April 22, 2020. Barry was born on December 7, 1957 to Phil and Jean (Luby) O’Hanlon in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended Park Hill Elementary in Park Hill (Denver, CO), Smiley Jr. High School in Park Hill (Denver, CO), and Rocky Mountain High School (Fort Collins, CO). He later attended Front Range Community College in addition to trade school and became a Sheet Metal Journeyman. He was a gifted ‘tinner’ and proud of his many professional accomplishments with Poudre Valley Air, Local 9 Sheet Metal Union and Kuck Mechanical. Additionally, Barry was talented in wood-working and decorative metal designs. He could fix nearly anything. From a young age, Barry was entertaining with wit and humor. His children will remember the best parts of him including his goofiness and the famous ‘Scooby Shake’. Barry married Karen Zuzelski in 1985. From this relationship, Meaghan and Tyler O’Hanlon were born. Barry married Christie Brown in 1999. Together they combined their children Meaghan, Sarah, Tyler ‘TJ’ and baby Katie into one beautiful family. The enjoyed many family vacations in the outdoors including to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Moab, Park City, Ft. Robinson, Chimney Rock, Mount Rushmore, US Virgin Islands, San Juan Islands, Seattle, Portland, Angel Fire and many places throughout Colorado. Barry is survived by his children, Meaghan O’Hanlon (Longmont, CO), Sarah Foreman (Kihei, HI), Tyler “TJ” O’Hanlon (Fortuna, CA) and Katie O’Hanlon (Davis, CA). He is also survived by his siblings Erin (John) Giardino (Arvada, CO), Shannon Allen (Grand Junction, CO), Tracey (Lynn) Hough (Denver, CO), Kerry O’Hanlon (Denver, CO) and Brian (Candy) O’Hanlon (Longmont, CO) in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. Barry ‘Bear’ loved his family, music, his dogs, and above all, his four children. The hope is that Barry is resting in peace knowing how much his family loved him. A private family memorial will be held in the autumn.
