Obituary HOLYOKE Barbara M. (Staelens) Rzasa, age 90, of Chicopee, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Daybrook Village in Holyoke. She was born in Conway, MA, a daughter of the late Ernest and Josephine (Murray) Staelens. Barbara worked in the School Lunch Division of Chicopee Public Schools for many years and was a communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church in Chicopee. She is survived by three sons: Thomas Rzasa of Westfield, Michael Rzasa of Chicopee, and James Rzasa of South Hadley; four grandchildren: Jason, Katelyn, Allison, and Emily; a great grandson, Abram; a sister, Mary Lou Fortier of South Deerfield, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by a son, John Rzasa, and a brother, Richard Staelens. The family would like to thank the staff at Daybrook Village for all the wonderful, loving care they gave Barbara. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
