A.B. (Tom) Tomlinson of Rising Star, TX was born on February 1, 1926, to Algee Bennett and Anna Beatrice (Naven) Tomlinson in Wheeler, Texas. He is preceded in death by parents, brothers, Arneil and Blaine Tomlinson, sister, Barbara Stumpenhaus and daughter, Marsha Tomlinson. Tom grew up on the family farm in Lampasas, TX, and served in WWII. Having been introduced to large equipment during the War, Tom found work selling large Caterpillar CAT Excavator Equipment in the Northwest and owned and operated Tetco in Island City, Oregon. Later in life, Tom began splitting his time between summers in Coos Bay Oregon deep sea fishing with Terry and Deana Holeman as well as enjoying family time with daughters, Audrey Tomlinson Porter and husband Kevin of Coos Bay, OR and Valerie Tomlinson Early and husband Doug of Powell Butte, Oregon and Cathy Tomlinson of Toledo, Oregon. Tom enjoyed winters in Texas with daughter Kim Earhart of Fayetteville, Arkansas and family, Skeet Parker and Shannon Spate of Rising Star, friends John David Foeller and many others fishing, hunting and enjoying a good game of cards or dominos. He was happiest with friends and family around, hanging out with his hunting buddies and getting hugs from his girls! Tom will lovingly be remembered for his huge heart towards all people, deep belly laughs, a wonderful sense of humor, love of Jesus and modest living. Mostly he will be remembered as Daddy, Grandad and Friend. A.B. Tomlinson is survived by his daughters, Kim, Audrey, Val and Cathy, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will gather at a later date to celebrate Tom in a memorial. Arrangements for A.B. (Tom) Tomlinson have been entrusted to Heartland Funeral & Cremations of Comanche.
