Obituary Agnes Carolyn Boyd (née Aiken) was born on February 14, 1942, to Eugene & Hannah Aiken. Agnes was a lifelong resident of Morristown, NJ and a 1960 graduate of Morristown High School. The twelfth of fourteen children, Agnes grew up in a loving, Christian home. She attended Bethel AME Church as a little girl and gave her life to the Lord at an early age. While at Bethel, Agnes served as the Superintendent of Sunday School, was a Sunday School teacher, and was the head of the Youth Sunbeam Choir. In 1970, Agnes married Joseph Boyd Sr. and from that union came two sons; Joseph Lafayette III (deceased 1999) and Johnathan David (deceased 2014), both of Morristown, NJ. In later years, Agnes became a member of the Church of God in Christ in Morristown, NJ, where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday School Teacher. Throughout Agnes’ career, she held positions at Bamberger’s and Bell Labs, before retiring from Sprint Corporation. Agnes enjoyed cooking and was known for her signature dish – apple pie, which was a favorite amongst her family and friends. Agnes was a loving sister. The fun and laughter she shared with her siblings will never be forgotten. Agnes is predeceased by her parents (Eugene and Hannah Aiken), her two sons (Joseph and Johnathan Boyd), 7 brothers (Herman, Eugene, Samuel, Marion, Elijah, Harold and Nathaniel), and 4 sisters (Catherine, Gladys, Mary Lee and Roberta). She leaves behind to mourn her loving memory her brother LeRoy Aiken, Sr. of Morristown, NJ (Carolyn) and her sister Joann McCann of Knightdale, NC (Louis), her daughter-in-love Monique Boyd, and her 4 grandchildren: Jordyn, Jaedyn, Jaylah and Joseph. Agnes also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends, including Mary & Gus Blanchard of Minnesota, as well as her personal caregiver and niece, Sharon Golden.
