Josefita “Josie” Wells, 72, of Guymon, passed away Sunday evening, April 26, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Willie Alfonso and Abelina (Aguilar) Gibson, she was born February 14, 1948 in Portales, New Mexico.
Josie and William James Wells were married on September 9, 1966 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They moved to Guymon in 1967 from Electra, Texas. Josie and Bill owned and operated Savaii-Roberts Motel for several years. Josie attended the Free Will Baptist Church.
Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on February 13, 2008, one daughter, Amanda J. Wells on December 19, 1997, one grandson, Tyler West on May 27, 2018; four brothers: Joe, Danny, Richard and Charlie Gibson and sister-in-law, Debbie Gibson.
She is survived by one daughter, Leslie L. “Livy” Wright and her husband, Billy of Guymon; one son, Clinton L. Wells and his wife, Debi of Snyder, Texas; sister, Jan Long and husband, Tommy and brother, Frank Gibson all of Guymon. Survivors also include eight grandchildren: Rodney, Blake, Shandi, Conner, Destiny, Shae, Cody and Kelly, and nine great grandchildren with another on the way.
Cremation arrangements were handled by the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. There will be a private family celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of choice. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
