Obituary Wilma J. Smith, 89, of Lanesville, died Sunday, February 16, 2020, at her home near Lanesville. She was born January 11, 1931, in Lanesville, to the late Edgar G. and Carmen D. Bell Hussung. She was a retired Nutrition Shop Manager with Kroger’s, was formerly employed at Polly’s Freeze and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville where she was very active in the Martha Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kermit E. Smith; her daughter, Brenda J. Pavey; her brothers, Edwin, Donald, William, Marvin and Russell Hussung; and her sister, Josephine Gibson. Survivors include her sons, John Kermit Smith (Vonita) of New Albany, Indiana and Kevin Ray Smith (Debbie) of Lanesville; her sisters, Carol Smith (Steve) of Lanesville and Paula Faith (Larry) of New Middletown; her son in law, David Pavey of Lanesville; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville. Pastor Mark Carnahan will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9a.m. Thursday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be Darren, Tim and Eric Pavey, John L. and Brandon Smith, Chris Rykrsmith, John and Aaron Herbert, Joshua and Timothy Ater. Crossbearer will be Isabella Mann.
