Obituary William Edward “Billy” Bowe was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 3, 1933. He was the youngest of seven children born to George T. and Lessie H. Bowe. Billy was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Bowe; and five sisters, Mamie Moore, Francis Lewis, Leslie Pauline Jones, Mattie Frye, and Marian Barnes. Billy graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1951. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and actively served in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and went on to attend Duff’s Business School where he also met the mother of his two sons, Joyce Irish, in Pittsburgh, PA. Billy then moved to Virginia in 1970, where he became a skilled carpenter contractor and also met the mother of his daughter, Barbara Dunn. Billy was convinced to move back to Pittsburgh by his son, Bobby, in the late 1990’s, where he spent the rest of his life enjoying time with family and friends. Billy was called home surrounded by his family on February 20, 2020. His memory is will be forever cherished by his two sons, William E. Irish, Sr. and Robert L. (DiVerne) Irish, Sr, and one daughter, Lakia Dunn; seven grandchildren, LaKayla Irish, Robert (Domonique) Irish, Jr., William (Monica) Irish, Jr., Matthew Irish, David (Fatima) Irish, Dyazia Hobley, and Kennedi Knox; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
