William Buford’s Obituary Mr. William Buford Clifton, age 80, husband of Myrl Gallo Clifton, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday morning, February 25, 2020 at his residence. The family will celebrate his life with private services. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on February 2, 1940 in Pulaski, William was the son of the late Buford Odell Clifton and the late Esterlene Attkisson Clifton. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the American Legion in Pensacola, Florida. William retired as a truck driver from Jones Truck Line in 1991 and was a member of the Elk’s Lodge in Florida. He spent most of his spare time fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Stethney (Richard) Haney of Lebanon, TN; son, Todd Clifton of Old Hickory, TN; sisters: Mildred Gamble of Murfreesboro, Joyce (Joe) Locke of Franklin, TN, Polly Beard of Hermitage, TN, Pat Jackson of Spring Hill, Barbara (Randy) Gillespie of Santa Fe, TN; brother, Donald (Judith) Clifton of Columbia; grandson, Billy Clifton of Huntington, WV; granddaughters: Christin (Charles) Miller of Lebanon, TN, Shannon Clifton of Huntington, WV, Nicole Clifton of Old Hickory, TN, Samantha Clifton of Old Hickory, TN; step daughters: Terri (Ray) Zoroufie of New Rochelle, NY, Trista (Michael) French of Smyrna, TN; step sons: Thomas (Betty) Swantek of Lost Creek, PA, Tim (Tracey) Swantek of Mahanoy City, PA; and several great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William B. Clifton, Jr. and brother, James Clifton. Read More
