William B. Hall, Sr., 92, of Johnstown, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam. He was born on November 25, 1927 in Amsterdam, a son of the late Francis H. Hall and Florence Rausch Hall. Mr. Hall attended Amsterdam schools and was a lifelong farmer at his family farm, Hallsdale Farm. He was a member of the NYS Farm Bureau and also a member of the Glen Mohawk and Dolgeville Co-Ops. William was a lifelong New York Yankee and New York Giants fan. Mr. Hall bowled many seasons in the Farm-City bowling league at Perry Lanes and attended the many sporting events of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife Dorothy M. Donnahie Hall who he married on May 2, 1954; four sons William B. Hall, Jr. (Wendy) of Tribes Hill, Gary L. Hall (Suzanne) of Johnstown, Douglas E. Hall of Fonda and Andrew J. Hall of Gloversville, one sister-in-law Marie Hall; nine grandchildren Michael Hall, Kendall Sherwood (Tyler), Patricia Sweet, James Hall, Tyler Hall (Mollee), Baylee Hall (Mackenzie), Nolan Hall, Zachary Hall (Evelyn) and Shelby Adams (Jake); eight great grandchildren Henry Sweet, Grady Sweet, Levi Sweet, Olivia Hall, Valor Hall, Archer Adams, Lilly Anna Adams and Elliot Adams and one nephew Thomas Hall. Mr. Hall was predeceased by his brother Francis D. Hall, Jr. and nephew Timothy Hall. A memorial service for William will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Fonda Reformed Church, 19 Broadway, Fonda with Rev. Tom Flander officiating. Memorial visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service on Saturday, February 8 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Interment will be in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville at the convenience of the family.
