Treva’s Obituary On February 22, 2020 our sweet mother, grandmother, and friend left earth to join with her sweetheart in heaven. Treva Marie Bullock was born in a log cabin in Robin, Idaho on March 2, 1933. We heard many times the birth account of Mom from Grandma of how the doctor made a house visit in a snowstorm and delivered Mom. She was the second of four children born to Joseph Lester and Emma Tillotson Bullock. Treva grew up in the outskirts of Pocatello. Out the back door and through the field lived a dang good looking guy that she was very attracted to. Dad loved to tell the story of him riding his horse down to her house and she would pretend that she had to go outside for something and inadvertently see him on his horse with a casual, “Oh hi!” That love story ended up with Mom and Dad getting married in 1948, before Treva finished high school. Many years later she proudly finished her schooling getting her GED. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah LDS temple. Mom was a very quiet and private person. She was never one to seek praise or recognition. She was content to be the supporter in the background. We can honestly say that we never heard her criticize or find fault with anyone. She would always find the positive in everyone and every situation. This quiet little person was a giant of an example to all of us. She always worked along side Dad in every endeavor they set out to do. When they moved to Grace from Pocatello in 1955, the business they began was a Purina feed store which had a little fast food drive inn attached. It was affectionately called Treva’s Trip Inn which she ran independently. These businesses kept them hopping and busy serving the residents of Grace and Caribou County, which they both enjoyed. After a few years, they bought Grace Hardware where she continued to work and support Dad. Even in the grocery business which came next, she worked long and tirelessly until their retirement in 1987. We remember her coming home after a long day at work and fixing wonderful suppers for her family. She was a marvelous cook and enjoyed serving her family, or members of her community. She was a member of the Grace Literary Club and served as President for several years even though it was out of her comfort zone. But as she always did, she made the best of it and was a very fine President serving two terms. Everyone loved her and how could someone not love such a sweet honorable soul who would give her all to whatever was asked of her. She also served as President of the Grace PTA, and was the instrumental force to get the Halloween Carnival started all those years ago. She always served whenever asked in the community or church. She was very physically active in her life, which made these past few years of limited activity extremely difficult for her. She used to scare her daughters to death jogging along the busy road in front of their home. We remember her exercising and always eating “just a sliver dear” of all goodies. It was important to her to stay in shape and looking nice. She loved to dress up and wear her high heels. Even scaring everyone in the church congregation when her balance wasn’t the best, she had to dress up and wear those heels! Mom loved the Utah Jazz and wouldn’t miss a game. She knew all the players and whom they had played for in the past. She was the cutest avid Jazz fan! Mom supported Dad not only in his businesses but his wild adventures as well. She never complained about anything. When Dad earned his pilot’s license, she would fly with him anywhere he wanted to go. When he got his Goldwing motorcycle, she was behind him in sunshine, rain, sleet, and even some snow. Dad always commented on what a good sport she was to go with him no matter what. They were truly a team throughout life, and it is with reservation we let go of her so she can join him again. We will miss you so much, Mom, and please know of the wonderful example you were to your whole family. Treva is survived by her four children, Linda (Sam) Ecker of Grace, Susan Gentry of Soda Springs, Brent (Diane) Krebs of Grace, and Karla (Steve) Rigby of Pocatello; a brother Larry Bullock and a sister, Marilyn Bullock both of Pocatello; 16 grandchildren, and 57 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Gloria, two grandchildren, Kip and Lori Staley, son-in-law, Ward Staley, and one great-grandchild, Brinlee Mathews. We would like to thank those dedicated angel helpers at Edgewood for the service they provided our sweet mother. There will be a viewing Thursday, February 27, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Grace Stake Center. And a viewing Friday, February 28, from 9:30-10:30 AM. The funeral will be at 11:00 AM at the Grace Stake Center. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Garden in Pocatello at 2:30 PM. Read More
