Smith, of Liberty and formerly of Hamilton, passed away on February 12, 2020, at her home in Liberty. Tina was born on August 23, 1962 to the late Donald Ray Retherford and Ida (Bowlin) Retherford. On November 21, 2000, she married her husband of more than 19 years, Robert Smith, in Lexington, Ky. Tina completed cosmetology school where she later worked at various salons in Hamilton. She also worked for Capital Varsity in Oxford, OH where she was a seamstress and refurbished sports equipment. Tina was also a caretaker for her family. She took care of her mother-in-law throughout her illness and was always there for her grandchildren. Tina loved spending time outdoors fishing and camping. She had a passion for music and enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals. Most importantly, she loved her grandchildren. Along with her husband Robert, Tina is survived by four children; Jason Retherford, Leaha Simpson, Amber Donovan, and Andrew York; a brother, Mark (Cookie Johnson) Retherford; sister, Patricia Retherford; eleven grandchildren, Jacob, Corey, Kailey, Holly, Hannah, Jerahlynn, Olivia, Blake, Lilly, Layla, and Quentin; a close cousin, Robin Retherford as well as many others; and sister-in-law, Nancy Retherford. In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lewis Retherford and a cousin, Terri Heatherly. Services for Tina will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to assist the family. Urban-Winkler Liberty Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
