Than Huu Nguyen September 6, 1942 – February 16, 2020 Than Huu Nguyen passed away Sunday afternoon at his residence in Bedford, IN. Born September 6, 1942 in Quang Binh, Vietnam, he was the son of Thong & Bon Nguyen. He married Khuyen Nguyen in 1975 and she survives. Than was a high school graduate and went on to graduate from B22 Truong Vo Bi Si Quan Da Lat where he was commissioned as a captain. He served in the Vietnamese war for the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) and retired from the military. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Surviving to cherish Than’s memory are his wife, Khuyen Nguyen; a son, Quynh Nguyen and his wife Hang; a daughter, Uyen Nguyen and her husband James Liu; grandchildren Ethan, Jasmine, Leah and Audrey; brothers Can Nguyen, Minh Nguyen, Thai Nguyen, and Thien Nguyen; a sister, Xa Nguyen; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Lan Nguyen and Thong Nguyen. A Mass of Christian Burial for Than Nguyen will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00am at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford. Visitation will be Saturday from 9-10:30 am at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes with the Rosary to follow at 10:30.
