Sue’s Obituary Sue Parr, age 79, of Hughes Springs, TX, went to join her loved ones gone before her in Heaven on February 4, 2020 at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant, TX with her husband Bob at her side. She was born July 19, 1940, in Redwater, TX to Thomas Ray Taylor Sr. and Georgia Pearl Taylor of Redwater, Texas. She attended Redwater School where she played clarinet in the band and graduated Salutatorian. She went on to Texarkana College and then to East Texas State in Commerce. She was a school teacher in Redwater and Maud schools briefly before entering her life-long vocation as a devoted mother, homemaker and grandmother. Sue loved planting flowers, fruit trees and vegetable gardens. She dedicated her life to raising her children in the Church of Christ where she attended faithfully as a life-long member and taught Sunday School for several years. She served diligently as room mother for both her girls all through their grade school years in both Pleasant Grove and Hughes Springs schools. She also played an active role in Girl Scouts as Assistant Leader and Leader. Later, as grandchildren came, she regularly attended their school parties and activities. She was a wonderful cook who loved providing her husband and family with nutritious and tasty meals. In her twilight years, she loved spending time with her husband who devoted his time regularly to her. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob Parr of Hughes Springs, TX, her children Suzanne (Hale) Boyd and husband David of Katy, TX, Sandi (McMurrian) Latham and husband Barry of Texarkana, TX; one sister, Dorothy Taylor of Texarkana, TX; one brother, Tommy Taylor and wife Cindy of Round Rock, TX; four grandchildren, Brittney Hale, Skyler McMurrian, Lily McMurrian and Vivienne Latham all of Texarkana, TX and other friends and relatives. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Jay Launius officiating. Burial will be in Redwater Cemetery.
