Sue Hamblin, 79, of Lanier Township, West Alexandria, OH, passed away suddenly late Sunday night February 2, 2020 at her home. Born in Gatliff, KY, she was the firstborn of 12 children to the now late Luther and Gladys (Engle) Taylor. Sue retired after 26 1/2 years from the Inland Division of General Motors where she had worked at both the Dayton and Vandalia plants. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7596 of Franklin; loved listening to and going to live bluegrass music events; enjoyed travel with her husband and going to the casinos. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers and sisters Larry Taylor, Gary Taylor, Dave Taylor, Verlin Taylor, Lillie Lawson and Ota Powers. Sue is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years Robert C. Hamblin, whom she married May, 7, 1960; daughters Darlene Leiwig and husband Tim of Kissimme, FL, and Debbie Hamblin of West Alexandria; sisters and brothers Nancy Powers, Fred Taylor, June Nave, Carl Taylor and Rick Taylor; along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of special friends. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 – 9:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens – 3377 US Rt. 35 – West Alexandria. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home, with burial at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
