Sherrie Kay Perkins March 16, 1952 – February 13, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Sherrie Kay Perkins, age 67, of Macon, MO, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the Boone Medical Center in Columbia, MO. Sherrie was born March 16, 1952, in Mexico, MO, the daughter of Lindell and Johnnie (Shahan) Sims. She was united in marriage to Anthony Perkins on October 14, 1978 in Macon. Sherrie graduated from Macon High School in 1970. She worked as a laboratory technician at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL before returning to Macon and working at the Samaritan Hospital laboratory. After the birth of her son Brandon, Sherrie worked full time with her family at Sims Jewelry. Sherrie enjoyed reading, gardening, decorating, jewelry and especially spending time with her granddaughters, Ryan and Tori. Sherrie is survived by her husband, Anthony, of the home; two granddaughters, Ryan and Tori; one brother, Gary Sims and his wife Shirley of Macon, MO; and several nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Brandon Linn Perkins on May 14, 2004. Funeral service will be 10:00 am on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Rev. Scott Dalrymple and Bro. Jim Bolin officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, north of Macon. Visitation will be Sunday, afternoon, from 3:00 to 5:00 at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association. Print Obituary
