Obituary of Sheilah Nell Chisum Sheilah Nell Chisum, 58, of Lovington, NM went to meet her loving Savior on February 5, 2020. Her funeral services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with pastor Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Sheilah was born on May 7, 1961 to Kenneth Chisum and Wynell Barry in Lovington. She grew up and attended school here. Sheilah was a very vibrant person that was the entertainment of the family, always talking and always on the go. She had her own business called Covenant Cleaning. Dancing, music and being in the kitchen as a professional taster was some of the things she loved, besides birds, horses and flowers. Her great love was her dog M’dea. Her family lovingly said “she was always late” ! She loved God and her boys and grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them . Helping other people was also something she liked to do. Sheilah was well known and recognized because she could have been called the “hat lady”, as she loved hats! The family requests that all women please wear a hat to the funeral service in memory of Sheilah. Preceding her in death were her grandparents: Cecil and Zillah Lee; one brother: Wally McLaurin and one sister: Cheryl Patterson: one aunt: Gwendelyn Lee and one uncle: Dean Palmer. Surviving her is her Mother: Wynell Barry of Lovington; her father and step-mother: Kenneth and LaVerne Chisum Sr of Early, TX; three sons: Billy Jr and wife Karri Bell of Lubbock, TX, Brandon Bell of Elida, NM and Derek Miller of Flatonia, TX; 2 Daughters: Jenna and husband George Haj and Kimberly Miller; one brother: Kenneth Jr. and wife Lisa Chisum of Lovington; two sisters: Charlotte Mapes of Lovington and Kim and husband Todd Gilliam of Brownwood, TX ; eight grandchildren: Alexa, Avery, Audri, Aspen,Tristin, Alex, Hannah and Jasmine and several nieces and nephews.
