Scottie’s Obituary Scott Campbell, age 71, of Blue Earth passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Memorial services will be held at 11am on Monday, February 17, 2020 at SSPP Catholic Church in Blue Earth with Father Brian Mulligan officiating. Visitation time will be held prior to the service at church, beginning at 9am. Scottie was born on August 14, 1948 in Blue Earth to Eldon and Fern (Egeness) Campbell. He attended and graduated from Blue Earth High School. He attended Mankato State University and several other law enforcement schools. In October of 1969, he married Mary “Mickie” Armon at SSPP Catholic Church. Scott served in the law enforcement field for over 35 years. Some of his work experience includes, justice of the peace, a police officer, police chief, deputy sheriff, and sheriff. He also served as a volunteer fireman. Scott loved nature, animals, spending time outdoors, and a good wrestling match. He was always eager to take people out to the “the back 40” on the four-wheeler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and driving around in his truck with his yellow lab “Maddie” riding shotgun. He was a big guy with a big heart, as his love for his children and grandchildren was immense. His sincere love for people extended far beyond his immediate family. Scott was an active member in the recovery community and was always “on call” and ready to help when asked. His grit, wit, and distinctive charm resonated with everybody and touched so many lives. Scott almost always left you shaking your head with a smile. His unique character, straight-forward wisdom, and classic sense of humor will always be cherished. Scott is survived by his wife, Mickie; children, Travis (Patti) Campbell of Arcata, CA, Jessica (John) Wagner of Glenwood, Ben (Sara) Campbell of McKinleyville, CA, and Shawn (Bill) Bromeland of Blue Earth; brothers, Bradley (Bernita) of Wheatland, WY, Jeffery (Vickie) of Blue Earth, and Terry (Melissa) of Blue Earth; and 9 grandchildren, Jordan Hanevik, Jake Hanevik, Kirbi Campbell, T.J. Campbell, Remy Campbell, Charlie Campbell, Delaney Campbell, Reagan Bromeland, and Will Bromeland. He is preceded in death by his parents and many faithful dogs. “I love you all, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it.” – Scottie C. Read More
