Scott’s Obituary Scott R. Kappler, 59, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born February 6, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Friday, January 31, 2020 at his residence. Scott was a self employed carpenter. He loved to play poker and going fishing, but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren, He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Rosalie, nee Halter, Kappler and a brother, Wesley Kappler. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Kappler, nee Redd; two daughters, Melissa (Stanley) Smith and Lisa Day, both of Waterloo, IL; two sisters, Janet Kappler and Whitney (John) Major, both of Fults, IL; and four grandchildren, Cole Francis, Zach and Kallie Smith, and Arabella Day. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Condolences may be expressed online at braunfh.com. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois.
