Obituary Scott Everette Thornton, 57, of Dunn passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Mr. Thornton’s memorial service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00 am. The service will be held at West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel in Newton Grove with Father Mark Wise officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 24 from 10 to 11 am. Mr. Thornton’s survivors include his mother, Jeanette Thornton of Newton Grove; his daughter, Elizabeth Mae Thornton of Alabama; a granddaughter, Bristol Blackmon; and his sisters, Kelly Warren of Dunn and Audra Haddad and husband Mike of Kinston. Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Everette Thornton. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
