Obituary Mr. Royal Lee Moore, 81 of London Mills, passed away at 12:48 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. He was born March 18, 1938 near London Mills, the son of Wallace and Alta “Millie” (Heikes) Moore. He married Marlene Abel Cox on March 13, 1982 in Galesburg. Royal is survived by his wife, Marlene; his sons, Royal Lynn (and Rebecca Cox) Moore of London Mills, Rory (and Penny Swanson) Moore of Abingdon and Ray (and Heather) Moore of London Mills; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; one stepson, James Dean “JD” Cox of Kewanee; one stepdaughter-in-law, Jennifer Cox of Oneida; two sisters, Becky Moore and Nadine Moore; and one stepbrother, Bobby Moore. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Moore and stepson, Darren Cox. He had lived in the London Mills area most of his life. He graduated from Spoon River Valley High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He worked at Gates Rubber Company for 30 years and was a woodworker in London Mills for 40 years. He was a member of the London Mills United Methodist Church. His hobbies included woodworking, collecting toy cars, and in his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Colts fan. As he requested, cremation will be accorded and no services are planned. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
