Rosemary’s Obituary Rosemary Robertson Hopmann, 88, a longtime resident of Dumas, Arkansas passed away February 13, 2020. Born October 04, 1931 in Houston, Texas the daughter of the late Charles Lee Robertson Sr. and Olah Hunter Robertson. Her parents, brother, Charles Lee Robertson Jr, and three sisters, Margaret Robertson Eubanks, Anita Olah Robertson Rodeheaver and Sarah Ann Roberston Boyd, all preceded her in death. Rosemary graduated from John Reagan High School, Houston, Texas in 1950 and married Ernest Hopmann on February 23, 1951. They lived in Houston during the time of Ernest’s military service in the United States Coast Guard and his attendance at the University of Houston. In 1959 Rosemary and Ernest moved to Dumas, Arkansas and began a life of farming that led to their retirement in the early 1990’s. Rosemary served in leadership positions as a member of the Dumas First United Methodist Church. She served on the Administrative Board, Altar Guild, United Methodist Women, Circle V, and the Susanna Wesley Sunday School Class. Having known about churches in Houston that had Bereavement Committees, Rosemary brought the idea to the Dumas Church. She and her dear friend Phyllis Freeman started this committee and it serves the church well today. Rosemary was also a life member of the Eastern Star. Rosemary loved to cook and cooked for many. She loved to fish and was proud to pull them in from her private fishing dock built by Tuffy. Rosemary was a treasure who will be dearly missed. Survivors are her husband Ernest Otto Hopmann, Jr of Dumas, Arkansas one son Ernest “Bo” Hopmann, III and his wife, Lisa of Houston, Texas and one daughter Dawne Hill and her husband, James “Tuffy” of Dumas and five grandchildren, Daniel Hill and wife Katie, Wade Hill and wife Whitney, Kristen Siegerist and husband Clayton, Elizabeth Hopmann and Anita Hopmann, six great grandchildren, Parker Hill, Eli Hill, Woods Hill, Poppy Hill, Rosemary Siegerist and Estelle Siegerist. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 2 PM, Saturday, February 15, 2020 with funeral services following at 2 PM both held at Dumas First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tandy Hanson officiating and Eulogy by David Walt. Interment following services in Walnut Lake Cemetery, Pickens, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Dumas First United Methodist Church, 230 Court Street, Dumas, Arkansas 71639.
