February 20 2020
Roger “Bucky” Queen, age 51, of Franklinville passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Born in Vineland to the late Lewis H. Queen, Sr. and Margaret (Murray) Queen, he grew up in Monroeville and was a graduate of Woodstown High School. During and after high school, Roger worked for Brooks Dairy Farm. He went on to work as a truck driver, mostly with BK Trucking out of Newfield, until his unfortunate motorcycle accident in 2015. Roger indulged in the simple things in life like an ice cold beer, Bud Light of course, and driving his pick-up on the backroads blasting everything from Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, Jr. to the hiphop hits on the radio. He loved being surrounded by friends and family. On the road he had many friends as well, from the folks working the local food trucks and restaurants to other drivers–lovingly referring to him as The Agitator. He loved his children very much and was loved deeply by them and many more. He loved his grandchildren who brought him so much joy after his accident, too. He will be remembered as a jokester who was beyond full of life; always ready for an adventure, to help you fix something, give you advice or the shirt off his back and expect nothing in return; with a big grin on his face and a sparkle in his almond brown eyes. He will be missed beyond words. Roger is survived by his children Matthew Queen and Nicole Queen (Edward Fisher, Jr.); his grandchildren Adalynn and Matthew, Jr.; his siblings Barbara Morvay, Nancy Lake, Lewis Queen, Jr. (Cherrie), Deborah Frank (Charles), Ellen Frank, Darlene Glenn, Lisa Queen and Wanda Lasorsa; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Doris E. Queen and brother Robert L. Queen. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Elmer, NJ 08318. There will be a visitation starting at 10 AM and a time for friends and family to share memories at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Afterwards friends and family are welcome to gather for drinks at Steakouts Homeplate, 85 Harding Hwy Pittsgrove, NJ, 08318. In lieu of flowers, please contact the funeral home for donation information. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Roger “Bucky” Queen please visit our Sympathy Store.
