Robert’s Obituary Robert Lee Nelon, age 80, of Texarkana, TX passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 in a local hospice facility. He was born on May 31, 1939 in Plum Bayou, near England, AR to James and Ida Nelon. He served in the Army Reserves, loved to fish and was a member of First Baptist Church Wake Village. He had earlier worked for Timex, where he was also an outstanding softball player, but will be remembered as the local franchise owner of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Sylvia; his daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Gregory Kemp; two granddaughters and a host of friends. The family will receive friends at Chapelwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be at 2 pm on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at First Baptist Church Wake Village with Rev. Scott Neathery officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapelwood Mausoleum. Read More
