Rita Liane Gillman August 05, 1951 – February 10, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Rita Liane Gillman, age 68, of Neodesha, Kansas, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on August 5, 1951 in Culver City, California to John Hills and Alienne (Fostknight) Hills. She grew up in Kellog, Idaho before moving to Liberty, Kansas where she attended grade school and later graduated from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville. On August 25, 1975 she married Tom Gillman in Independence, Kansas. They made their home in rural Montgomery County for several years before moving to Neodesha in 1989. Rita worked at Emerson Electric for 13 years before driving for Pony Express and Asap Land Express, she later worked as a home health aide. Her and her husband also owned and operated Gillman’s Pottery and Ceramics in Neodesha. Rita loved taking care of her kids, grandkids, and her great-grandkids, they also used to go with her on her delivery routes. Rita is survived by her husband Tom Gillman of the home in Neodesha, Kansas; one son, John Patchett of Texas; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Mike Patchett, to daughters, Mary Gillman and Alicia Marie Gillman, and her parents. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethel Church of God in Neodesha, Kansas. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
