Gelinas 1942 – 2020 Chicopee- Richard Howard Gelinas. 77, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2020, with his family by his side. Born in Holyoke on November 10, 1942, Richard was the son of the late Victor and Rose (Forcier) Gelinas. He attended local schools and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1960. After graduation, Rick went right to work, beginning his career at the Spaulding WW/Callaway in Chicopee, where he worked for 45 years before his retirement in 2006. While at Spaulding, Rick made custom golf clubs for numerous golf professionals. Rick enjoyed playing golf and was also an avid Candlepin bowler, and he appeared on TV on the local program “Let’s Go Bowling.” He was also a member of the Chicopee Moose Lodge 1849. In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister Lorraine Schoeller and his son Richard A. Gelinas. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Brenda L. Gelinas, his sister Sandra Byers, of Parrish, FL, his brother-in-law, Tony Mitrook whom he had a special bond with, as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends. A memorial service for Rick will be held on Monday, February 24, at 11a.m. at First Central Bible Church, 50 Broadway Street, Chicopee, MA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Baystate Hospice. Corridan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
