Richard’s Obituary Mr. Richard Brown Caldwell age 76, of Family Church Rd. Murphy, NC passed away peacefully on Friday February 14, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side following an extended illness. Richard was born on March 5, 1943 in Murphy, NC, the son of the late Brown and Rebecca Mauney Caldwell. He loved hunting, fishing and playing horse shoes. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Hayesville, NC. Survivors include his wife Judy Ann Caldwell of the home; daughter, Kim and Vaughn Gibson of Murphy and son, Dickie and Jennifer Caldwell of Murphy; grandchildren, Jaderian Ackeman, Chad Caldwell, Brad Caldwell, Tyler Caldwell and Wyndsor Caldwell. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Hayesville, NC in Richard’s memory.
