Paul J. Ivanics, age 95, of Flat Rock, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on September 22, 1924 in Quebec, Canada, he was the son of Andrew and Mary (Fekete) Ivanics. On April 8, 1957 he married Irene Kovacs in Detroit, MI. He was employed with the City of Detroit as a Police Officer for 25 years until retiring. Paul served in the US Navy from 1941 – 1945 on PT boats during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Irene Ivanics. He is survived by his son, Michael (Lisa) Ivanics; grandchildren, Kari, Kristen and Steven (Ciara) Ivanics. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Holy Cross Hungarian Roman Catholic Church 8423 South St. Detroit, MI 48209. Mass will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Hungarian Roman Catholic Church 8423 South St. Detroit, MI 48209. Friends may gather beginning at 10:30 am.
