Norma Alesia Reid, 83, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away on February 18, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Norma Reid was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica, where she graduated from Titchfield High School. She is the daughter of Norman Morris and Ina Pearce. She pursued a course in Medical Technology at the Government Laboratory in Jamaica. In 1959 she married Leslie Reid, whom she met at the Lab where they both worked. The union provided two children, Donovan and Diane. In January 1965 Norma and the two children migrated to the United States to join Leslie, who had left a few months earlier to attend Howard University, to pursue a course in Dentistry. Norma spent 30 years as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, the last years as Blood Bank Supervisor at Greater Southeast Community Hospital. After retiring from the Hospital, Norma went to travel school to become a travel agent. After working for three years as an outside sales agent, Norma started her own travel agency, “Aurora Travel Service” in La Plata, MD, in 1989. The agency is still in the original location. Norma is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Leslie Reid; two children, Donovan {Kathy}, Diane; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah and Samuel; brothers, Dr. Anthony Morris, Donovan Morris, and Samuel Watson; and sisters, Patricia Dawes {William}, Fay Morris, and Dahlia Morris. Norma has lived a wonderful life. She loved the Lord and her Family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10AM until time of service at 12Noon at the Life Stream Church of the Nazarene, 5105 Leonardtown Road, Leonardtown, Maryland 20601. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
