Nicolas’ Obituary Nicolas M. Garcia 88, of Hereford, died Feb. 20, 2020 in Hereford. Rosary will be recited at 6 pm Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Jose Gomez, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Nicolas was born on Feb. 3, 1932 in Seguin. He moved to Hereford in 1973 from Edna. He retired from Holly Sugar in Hereford, after many years of faithful service. Nicolas was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed being outside working on his lawn. He enjoyed barbequeing and was very fond of his dog, Pewee. Nicolas married Victoria Santos on July 13, 1954 in Sinton. She preceded him in death in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Diana Garcia on Jan. 27, 2020. He is survived by four daughters, Gloria Scheller and her husband Doug, Cora Peace, Virginia G. Rodriguez and Lilia Allen and her husband Curtis, all of Amarillo; one son, Jaime Garcia and his wife Lori of Hereford; two sisters, Teresa Hastings of Hereford and Eva Forbes of Kingsville; two brothers, Enrique Garcia and Primo Garcia, both of Hereford; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donation be to Meals on Wheels, 426 Ranger St., Hereford, Texas 79045. Read More
