Obituary Nancy Lee (Anderson) Jermain passed away on February 25, 2020 in the comfort of her own home. Nancy was born in Houston on October 11, 1936. She was a member of the Adoue Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Myrtle Anderson; her husband, Johnie Val Jermain; and her brother, Warren Thomas Anderson. Nancy attended Lamar High School in Houston, graduating in 1954. Nancy also attended San Houston State University in Huntsville, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in 1957 and a Masters of Education degree in 1966. She taught school in Italy, Texas, Alvin ISD and Santa Fe ISD, serving a total of 30 years. Nancy had served in many organizations in Alvin including: Alvin Area Retired School Personnel, Alvin Library League, Alvin Historical Society, and Keep Alvin Beautiful. Her interests and hobbies included reading, gardening, traveling, and arts and crafts. Nancy is survived by: her sister-in-law, Maralyn Anderson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; her nephews: Kevin Anderson of Marina del Rey, California, and Paul Anderson of Baltimore, Maryland; granddaughters: René Bellows of Pearland, Texas, and Tammi Collier; niece, Carolyn Milner of Houston, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends. Nancy loved God, the Adoue Street Church of Christ, the Astros, and special friends: Pat Matheny, Corrine Stanley, Alice Sloan, Martha Clark, Wynell Andrus, Doradeane Ohnheiser, Diane James, and Jo Melton, as well as a host of many other friends. Services for Nancy will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Oak Park Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Mark Mayberry officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery.
