Obituary The family is saddened to announce the passing of Mylinda Brooke Windes Williamson on February 21, 2020 at age 36. Brooke was born September 20, 1983, in Fort Walton Beach to David and Ruth Windes. She was a Destin girl who loved being a part of the Windes family and supporting her community. She went to Fort Walton Beach High School and during those years was Miss Destin 2001. During that pageant she delighted the audience with the story of a jon boat trip from Destin Harbor out East Pass with her parents and brother. The boat was borrowed, was old and sprung a leak. David knew he had to turn around fast and get back to the docks before he lost his family. A Coast Guard cutter was approaching and indicated that the were to stop to make sure the life vests were adequate. No way – they proceeded full speed ahead as Brooke yelled up to them: “He can’t sink; he’s a charter boat captain!” Sinking in the East Pass would certainly been a blot on Dad’s resume. Brook graduated from the University of South Florida in 2005 and received her Master of Education degree from the University of Florida in 2010. She taught school in Chicago and Jacksonville for seven years. She was first married to Brian Triplett with whom she had a daughter, Samantha Wynn, age 5. At the time of her passing, she was married to Ryan Williamson, with whom she had a daughter, Brooklyne Eva, age 1 week. She leaves her husband, Ryan; daughters; parents; David and Ruth Windes; brother, Evan (Taylor) Windes: and well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be at 12:00 pm, on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Destin United Methodist Church, 200 Beach Drive, Destin, Florida, 32541, a funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Historic Gulf Cemetery South County Highway 393, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459. Donations in Brooke’s memory may be made to Covenant Hospice at Sacred Heart or the American Cancer Society. Davis-Watkins Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
