Martha Hawthorn Rodgers, age 67, of Hot Springs, passed away, Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Martha was born on June 23, 1952 in Hot Springs, the daughter of Jerry Glenn Hawthorn and Susie Beatrice Taylor Hawthorn. She is preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Lois Baker and Velma Sanders. On May 15, 1971 she married Michael S. Rodgers. Martha was Baptist in her faith and loved the Lord. She graduated from Hot Springs High School and became a butcher for Hawthorn Meat Packing Company and later was the Bakery/Deli manager for Harps Food Stores. Martha loved the outdoors, she gardened, loved tending her roses and loved hunting and if she didn’t have to touch the worm, she loved fishing. When possible, she loved watching the deer in her yard and the hummingbirds at her window. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Rodgers of Hot Springs; her daughter and son-in-law, Karmen and Darrell Tigue of Hot Springs; her two grandsons, Brandon Tigue of Bryant and Cody Tigue of Hot Springs; her four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Diane Hawthorn of Lonsdale, George and Earlene Hawthorn of Arkadelphia, Howard and Lou Ella Hawthorn of Glenwood, and Fred and Ceal Hawthorn of Royal; her two sisters and brother-in-law, Marjorie Golden and Bill Jackson of Hot Springs, and Pat Ramsey of Conway; nieces, nephews, extended family members and many wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 2, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro. Tony Essner officiating.
