Marlene Francis Wehrle – a sister to two, a mother to three, and a grandmother to four – peacefully went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2020, at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills, New Jersey. Marlene was surrounded by her loving family. She was 76. Born November 27, 1943 in Newark, New Jersey to Peter and Amelia Boykewicz. Marlene was a 1961 graduate of Linden High School. Marlene married Donald Wehrle in April 1969. They lived the majority of their lives in Forked River, New Jersey. Marlene was a dedicated worker. She started as a bank teller and later became manager at Jersey Shore Savings and Loan, displaying a talent for working with numbers. Marlene, affectionately known as Mema, Nanny and grandma, enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. Mema loved going to La Piazza, and always having “just a taste!” of everything that was being cooked. Mema had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of all of her plants and flowers. She especially loved and adored all of “her girls” – Candy, Butters, Minnie and Tuna Beans. Mema had a spicy sense of humor, and always made everyone laugh. Marlene is predeceased by her parents Peter and Amelia Boykewicz; her husband Donald Wehrle; her twin brother Alan Boykewicz. Those left to cherish her memory include her brother Robert and wife Elizabeth Boykewicz; daughter Debra and husband Bill Lightbody; daughter Tammy and husband Bruce Dobransky; son Christopher and wife Melissa Wehrle; granddaughter Shannon Lightbody; grandson Joshua and wife Natalie Lightbody; granddaughter Kaitlyn Dobransky; grandson Christopher Wehrle; and two stepsons- Donnie and Bruce Wehrle.
