Obituary Mission – Maria Alicia Hernandez, 71, entered eternal rest on on Wednesday February 19, 2020 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She was born on Saturday February 12, 1949 in Mission, the daughter of Gilberto and Amelia (Morales) Salinas. She was preceded in death by her father, Gilberto and her husband, Gabriel Hernandez. Maria was known for her backing. In her early life she was very outgoing and she loved sewing, gardening and playing Chalupa Loteria. Later in life she loved painting. She is survived by her mother: Amelia (Morales) Salinas; six children: Felix (Rebecca) Hernandez, Guadalupe (Raquel) Hernandez, Dalia Manriquez, Gabriel (Erica) Hernandez, Juan (Mary Lou) Hernandez, and Janet Hernandez, 3 sisters and 3 brothers; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Rivera Funerals Home of Mission with a prayer service at 7:00 pm.
