Madelyn’s Obituary Madelyn Kowalik Benson, longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas, entered eternal rest Monday, February 3, 2020, in San Antonio, at the age of 77 years, 8 months, 2 days. Madelyn was born June 1, 1942, in Falls City, Texas, the daughter of Nicholas Kowalik and Peligia Moy Kowalik. After graduating from Falls City High School, Madelyn worked as an insurance agent for many years. Madelyn is survived by her children, Jacqueline Brunson and husband Rusty of New Braunfels, and Donald Hons of Hobson; her siblings, Lester Kowalik and wife Dorothy, Bobby Kowalik and wife Jackie, Anton Kowalik, and James Kowalik; her grandchildren, Joseph Hons of Schertz, Arabella Ames of New Braunfels, and Megan Ames of San Antonio; her great grandchildren, Minerva & Suirory; and numerous nieces and nephews. Madelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hons; and her siblings, Leonard Kowalik, Raymond Kowalik, Virgil Kowalik, and Dorothy Kowalik. Visitation began at 1:00 P.M. Monday, followed by the recitation of the rosary and celebration of the Funeral Mass at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 10, 2020, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City. Interment followed at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Hobson, Texas. Serving as pallbearers were Clifton Jasek, Robert Kowalik, Kenneth Jasek, Justin Mayes, Lee Leonard, and Lester Kowalik.
