Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Arruda) and Frank Arruda. A Homemaker, she had also worked at the former Coachman restaurant as a hat checker. A Gold Star mother, she was affiliated with the VFW Post 5392. She is survived by 2 sons Gregory Soares (wife Cathy) and Artie Albernaz (wife Alicia). She was the mother of the late Corporal Edward Soares. In addition, she leaves her grandchildren Ryan Soares (wife Devyn), Kyle Soares, Ethan Albernaz, Aiden Albernaz. She also leaves a special niece Sheila Mulcahy. Siblings are Richard Arruda and Frank Arruda and the late Edward Arruda. Lorraine also leaves several other nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22nd at St Theresa Church 265 Stafford Rd, Tiverton, RI at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 in her memory. Arrangements are with the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home.
