A Celebration of the Life of Leonard Kenneth Roskos, aka “Ken” 82, of Kirtland resident, to be held on a date to be announced at Red Oak Camp, 9057 Kirtland-Chardon Road, Kirtland. Mr. Roskos passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at West Medical Center in Willoughby. Born February 22, 1937 in Cleveland, he was a lifelong Kirtland resident. Coach Roskos was employed as a health and physical education teacher at Willoughby Middle School from 1959 until his retirement in 1987, where he also coached football and wrestling. In addition to his teaching, Ken devoted 40+years serving as Executive Director at Red Oak Camp. Ken spent his retirement summering at his cottage with his wife Geraldine, family and friends at Blackstone Lake in Ontario, Canada. At home, his greatest pleasure was creating wood projects in his “shed” to give to everyone as beloved treasures. He enjoyed keeping an impeccable yard and helping at Red Oak Camp with any maintenance. Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Geraldine (nee: James) Roskos; children, Kenneth Roskos, Holly Roskos and David Roskos; grandchildren, Turrand Evans-Roskos, Hunter Evans-Roskos, Reine Evans-Roskos and Aria Evans-Roskos and brother Philip (Kathy) Roskos and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ann (nee: Simon) Roskos.
