Lemach’s Obituary Lemach Herbert “Herbie” Adkins, 84, of Dunbar, formerly of South Charleston and Huntington, passed away on February 25, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all those who knew him. He was born on March 2, 1935, in Huntington, to the late Maggie Lawhorn Adkins and Ancil Adkins. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolly Belcher Adkins, daughter Rebecca Adkins; brothers, Clarence, Frank, and Richard Adkins; and sisters, Eileen Roof, Sue Badgley, and Helen Lewis. Herbie is survived by his daughter Linda Adkins Skipper (Albert) of Wilmington, NC; sons, David Adkins (Susan) and Roger Adkins (Joyce-deceased) of Dunbar; granddaughters Rachael Adkins of Dunbar, Sandra Adkins (Dan) of Houston, TX, and Ashley Pauley of Charleston; grandson Sean Adkins of Dunbar; a brother, Larry of Aiken, SC; a sister, Barbara Dailey of Hemet, California; four great-grandchildren, and longtime family friend, Howard King (Debbie) of Nitro. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd, at Crooks Cemetery, in Huntington, with Pastor Gary Gillispie officiating.
