Kenneth’s Obituary KENNETH J MATTESON, age 63, of Bertha, formerly of Blue Earth, died Friday, January 24, 2020 at Lakewood Hospital in Staples, MN. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Matthew Koscielski officiating. Burial will be in Pemberton Cemetery at a later date. Visitation time will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com Kenneth was born on May 3, 1956, in Madelia, MN, the son of James and Fern (Fenske) Matteson. He attended Blue Earth Area Schools. Kenneth was also a member of the Army National Guard. He married Ruth Drivdahl on September 21, 2013 in Bertha, MN. The two kept coming back to each other, dating several times in their youth, until they finally reunited and got married. Kenneth was a trucker and loved being on the road. He also enjoyed listening to country music, watching TV, sitting on the deck enjoying the outdoors, and having bonfires (even though he almost set himself on fire a few times). Kenneth loved eagles. He also loved spending time with his dog, Abbi. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Drivdahl) Matteson; son, Kenneth Jr.; daughter, Amanda Guerra; step-children, Matthew Koscielski, Melodie Pope, and Micah Pope; sister, Linda Taylor; and 7 step-grandchildren.
