Kelly Jo Graves, 45, of Kawkawlin, our beautiful, smart, witty, strong-willed, and most kind wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on the morning of Friday, February 28, 2020 at her home. Kelly was born in Bay City on September 3, 1974, the daughter of John “Jack” and Darlene (Kelly) Pennell. She graduated from Bay City Western and went on to attend Delta College and Davenport University, receiving her Bachelor Degree. Kelly worked as the manager of business development for Heartland Hospice, where she was loved dearly. She was a natural people person, with her bubbly and friendly personality. She will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for generations to come. Kelly leaves to carry on her legacy, her husband, Christopher Graves; son, Cody Hoppe and his father, Kris Hoppe; step-son, Mitchell Schatzer; father and mother, Jack and Darlene Pennell; brother, Timothy Pennell; mother-in-law, Judy Graves; sister-in-law, Lisa (David) LaCourt; brother-in-law, Scott (Amy Wood) Graves, along with her special friends Kim, Julie, Linda, Tracy, Sarah, Patty, Stephanie, and all of her Heartland family. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Kelly was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Doug Graves. Per Kelly’s wishes, cremation will take place with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Heartland Hospice Foundation.
