Judith K.’s Obituary Judith “Judy” K. Meays, age 76, died peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Columbus Community Hospital following a short battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Vigil service, all at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment is in All Saints Cemetery. Judith K Meays was born January 13, 1944 to Harold and Wylma (Zacek) Keil at St. Mary’s Hospital in Columbus. She grew up in Clarkson and Schuyler before moving to Columbus. On August 24, 1961, Judy was united in marriage to Donald R. Meays at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. She was the loving mother of Crystal, John and Scott. Judy worked for many years in the restaurant business, including hostess and waitressing. In 1976 Don and Judy purchased a bar and grill east of Columbus, NE. For 37 years they owned and operated East 30 Inn before retiring in 2013.
