Joe was a member of Elks Lodge #721 in Bessemer. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Magnolia Armstrong and his brother, Rick Armstrong. Joe is survived by his wife, Connie Armstrong; his sons, Danny (Destiny) Armstrong and Cory Johnson; his daughter, Stephanie Smitherman; his grandchildren, Malachi, Kailey, Layne, Kyndal and Cypress; his brother, Larry Armstrong; his sisters, Charlotte Donaldson and Rebecca Armstrong; his mother-in-law, Linda Barnhill. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home with burial following at Adger Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, February 2, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bro. David Mason will be officiating the service.
