Obituary Joseph Connors, 71, of Linden, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, on July 7, 1948, to the late Joe and Frances Connors, Sr. While in the Army during the Vietnam War he was stationed in Fayetteville, NC. During this time, he met the girl of his dreams. He was dedicated to coaching his children and grandchildren in whatever sports they were involved. Left to cherish the memory of Joe is his wife of 49 years, Brenda; son, Kevin Connors, Sr.; daughter, Cherissee Shepard and husband Leon; grandchildren, Kevin Connors, Jr., Ashlyn Shepard, Brandon Shepard, Kaitlyn Shepard, Madison Connors, and Jason Shepard; brother, David Connors; beloved dogs, Lacie and Lexie Connors, along with his extended family and friends. The family will welcome friends from 5 to 7pm on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. A funeral is planned for 10:30am on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
