Walstonburg…………………………Johnny Marvin Boykin, age 81, died Saturday, February 22, 2020. Memorial service will be held Friday, February 28, at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 P.M. by Rev. Doug Skinner. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Johnny spent his life in Greene County, NC. He graduated from Walstonburg High School and attended Wingate College in Wingate, NC. After college Johnny decided to try farming for a while, but his heart was in the car business. He spent 50+ years in the car business working 6 to 7 days per week plus nights and made a successful business. He was a veteran of the United States Army having received an honorable medical discharge. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. Boykin and Mertha Boykin; wives, Faye B. Boykin and Carol C. Boykin; and daughter, Sandy Boykin. He is survived by his daughter, Kristen McLawhorn and husband, Mason of Hookerton; grandchildren, SadieLee McLawhorn and Brayden McLawhorn; brother, Billy Boykin and wife, Nancy of Wilson; sister, Ann B. Simpson and husband, Lloyd of Trinity; step-children, Tim and Craig Craft; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Roy Lee Wooten, Buddy Blalock, Donnie Lloyd, Jim Worrell, and many other close friends. Johnny has fought a tremendous battle to live. The nurses and doctors were amazed at his will to live. This is the type of man Johnny was. Online condolences may be made at www.farmvillefh.com.
