Obituary of John H. Mabry MABRY — John H., 77, of Ebensburg, went into peaceful rest with the Lord on February 25th, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 22, 1942 in Johnstown, son of the late Roy and Mary Anne (Jacobsky) Mabry. Preceded in death by loving wife, the former Donna Lee (Barr) Mabry. Survived by children, Cynthia Lee (Michael) Bennett; John Michael Mabry; and Amy Lynn Sherry (fiancé James Boggio) and grandchildren: Marquel Sherry, Kendra Sherry, Abbie Bennett and Ethan Bennett. Also 4 granddogs and 2 grandcats. John was member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, where he was a longtime member of the Men’s Choir, church lector, and had served with his late wife as a member of Cursillo, a Pre Cana Chair Couple and Executive Chair Couple for Family Life. Retired, he had been a longtime agent with American General in Ebensburg and started his career with King’s Department. He was a former member of the Bishop Carroll Band Boosters and as a young man had been a member of the Cambria Cadets Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps. He also had attended the Valley Forge Military Academy. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Brian Warchola, celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum.
