John’s Obituary John L. Mendler, a resident of Westland, passed from this life on February 26, 2020, at the age of 90. John was the beloved husband of Gayle, and the loving father of Cathy (Brian) Blaxal, Karen (Glen Vallance) Mendler, John Mendler, Lisa (the late Dan) Worley, Laurie (Jack) MacCracken, Cheryl (the late Richard) Stearn, William Carpenter, Nancy (Brian) Farkas, and Vicki (Eric) Sawicki. He was the cherished grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 10. Visitation for John will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, 7707 Middlebelt Road (S. of Ann Arbor Tr.) from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Gathering will take place on Monday, March 2, 2020 at First United Methodist Church of Garden City, 6443 Merriman Road (S. of Ford Rd.) at 11:15 a.m. until the time of his Service at 12:00 p.m. His final resting place will be Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
