John Granville Fox January 05, 1965 – February 16, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card John Granville Fox, 55, of rural McCune, passed away unexpectedly Sunday February 16th on his way to go fishing near his farm in McCune Ks. He was born January 5, 1965 in Columbus Ks, to Kenneth and Bonnie Gard Fox. His grandparents were Granville and Mary Fox and Charles and Bernice Gard. John attended Harding Academy and played football for Harding University in Searcy Arkansas. John met and fell in love with Cathie Lynn Binns while he was attending college. They married on Sept 9th at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Jim Citty. They had two daughters together Chelsea and Chaney. Cathy preceded him in death on August 8th 1994. John never remarried. John moved back to McCune to be close to family and raise his daughters. He drove a propane truck for McCune Co-op. He enjoyed serving and visiting with his neighbors on his deliveries. John was an avid Fisherman and gardener. He loved teaching his grandchildren and any youngsters how to fish. He enjoyed being out in nature, especially on his farm. His garden was enormous. He loved to load any visitors up with bags of his beautiful veggies, corn and tomatoes were his specialty. You could taste the love that he put into the produce. John is Survived by two beloved daughters, and grandchildren. Chelsea Fox and her husband Toby Wertz and their sons William and Wade of Oswego, KS, and Chaney Fox and her fiancĂ© Tanner Stewart of Pittsburg, KS. Other survivors include one sister, Connie Carbary and her family William and Tayren; two Brothers, Mark Fox and his wife Betty, and their children, Ashley and Charles Starks; Kenneth Fox and his wife Jenn, and their children Bryan, Sky and Rebecca; one uncle, William Gard; two aunts, Ramona Fox and Aunt Nancy Gard. Special cousins, Kevin Fox and his wife Joyce, Lori Brake and her husband Tim, and Debbie Neblett and husband Jeff. As well as numerous other family and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cathie Binns Fox, mother and father Kenneth and Bonnie Fox, Uncle David Gard, Uncle Robert Gard, and Uncle Fred Fox. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, February 21, 2020, at the Brenner Mortuary. A private burial will be at a later date in the McCune City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Brenner Mortuary. The family suggests memorials be given to the Grandchildren’s Educational Fund.
