He lived in a variety of places including: Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Africa (military), Oregon, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Minnesota, Washington, Nevada, and Idaho. Jesse was an entrepreneur mostly, having careers in sales, insurance, and his own business in battery restoration. In his younger years he was known for his good looks and his ability to flirt! Many girls would have loved to go on a date with Jesse! He loved the outdoors and gardening. He was always up at dawn or before to enjoy the freshness of the morning, the wildlife and to tend his garden. He also loved to play basketball, a sport he played in high school, with his children, and continued to play for fun into his 70’s. Jesse is a military veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman 2nd Class from 1956-1960; also being part of the K-9 unit during his tour in South Africa. He then served in the Army National Guard from 1960-1977. Jesse graduated from Baker High School in Columbus, GA, attended the University of Mississippi before the military, earned a certificate in automotive tune-up and diagnosis from Umpqua Community College in Oregon, and attended Lane Community College in Oregon as well. Jesse was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved serving in his callings and in his later years attending the temple often. Jesse was a kind and conscientious man, he loved Jesus Christ and tried to show that through the way he lived. His silliness, kindness, and quirky personality will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him well. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
