Mikolay age 75 of Lake in the Hills passed away on February 7, 2020. He was born on July 15, 1944 in Evanston, Illinois. James was a very proud Air Force Veteran. Beloved husband of Virginia (nee Hills) for 32 years. Loving father of Kim (Dave) Brey, Kristin (Jim) Krupka, Katie (Hank) Gensler, Tom (Bailey), Mikel (Madelyn) , Tim (Teri) Lindemann, Douglas Lindemann, Wendy (Mike) Mounce, and Jill (Mike) Ippolito. Cherished grandfather of Austin and Ashley Brey, Addison Krupka, Hayden and Layten Gensler, Ella Mikolay, Mason and Wesley Lindemann, Neco, Nixie, Morgyn Lindemann, Courtney (Tony) Justin and Jenn Mounce, Hailey and Christopher Ippolito. Great grandfather of Avery and Jaylee Lindemann. Dear brother of Yvonne ( Bob) Smith, Gloria (Bruce) Smith, and Mic (Sue) Mikolay. Brother in law of George (Pat) Hills, Mary Ann Hills, Jeannine Perkins and the late Beverley. Visitation on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016. Funeral Service on Thursday, February 13, 2020 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
