Grimesland…………………………James Thomas “J.T.” Holloman, age 88, died Thursday, February 27, 2020. Mr. James Thomas Holloman, affectionately known as “J.T.”, 88, went to his eternal home on Thursday, February 27th, 2020. The funeral service will be conducted Monday, March 2nd, at 3 p.m. in the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Skipper McLawhorn. Burial will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery. Mr. Holloman, a native of Greene County, lived his early life in the Walstonburg community. He made his home in Grimesland with his first wife Anna, where they raised their two sons. He served as a member of the Grimesland Volunteer Fire Department and supported the department until his health declined. He was a member of Proctor Memorial Christian Church, where he was a deacon and was active in the Christian Men’s Fellowship. He retired from Coastal Chemical Corporation but continued to work into his 80’s. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Anna Webber Holloman and his second wife, Vivian Elks-Holloman; son, Frederick Wayne Holloman, and daughter-in-law, Marianne Holloman; parents, Tommy and Martha Holloman; brothers, Sammy Holloman and William Earl Holloman, and sister-in-law Mary Holloman. He is survived by his son, Mitchell Holloman, and daughter-in-law Diane; grandchildren, Leigh Holloman Byrum, husband Kevin, Christopher Thomas Holloman, and Candace Holloman Beddard, husband Rusty; great-grandchildren, Noah Wayne Byrum, AnaClare Joy Byrum, Cutler Allen Holloman, Aubrey Jaymes Beddard, and Coy Allan Beddard. He is also survived by a special friend, Vivian Riggs. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Farmville Funeral Home. Box 159, Grimesland, N.C. 27837. He will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
